How to contribute a new patch for commit?

Pavel Baranchikov
Hello,

Earlier, there was an oppotunity to add a patch to a patch tracker. How
should it be done today, in GitHub?
        See http://sourceforge.net/p/checkstyle/patches/

Best regards,
Pavel Baranchikov

Re: How to contribute a new patch for commit?

Ivan Sopov
The preferred way to contribute is definitely via pull-request: https://help.github.com/articles/using-pull-requests

Preparing a patch requires using git anyway, so this way seems more complex. But is possible.

Thanks, Ivan Sopov.

Hi, Pavel

all sources/issues activity was moved to github. So please to pull request in Github.
Ticket tracker will be deprecated on SourceForge as we finish issue moving to github.

Attention:  new Checks and new functionality need to be discussed in mail-list first to avoid frustration that patch is rejected and you spend significat time to make it.
Please provide detailed explanations what for your patch (you can create issue in advance), just code will not be applied or stay as pending for long time.

Thansk,
Roman Ivanov
